Have four things ready before you go: your booking confirmation and the total price the shop quoted, enough yen cash, your route to the shop, and a phone that can receive messages at any time. Confirm your booking with support the day before and on the day, don't get drunk, and arrive early.
Pre-trip checklist
- Booking confirmation: it shows the shop name, time, and pickup point or shop location; save a screenshot.
- Total price and cash: bring yen cash for the total the shop quoted; see Cash or Card.
- Route: plan as if there is no pickup service, and look up directions in advance.
- Phone: keep it able to receive messages; support will confirm the day before and on the day.
- Translation tool: no Japanese is fine; a phone translation app is enough.
From November 2026, many Yoshiwara shops are ending pickup services, so plan your own transport as if there is no pickup. Details: Yoshiwara Pickups End from November.
The day before and on the day
- The day before: confirm your booking once with support.
- On the day: confirm again in the morning and reply to messages promptly. If we can't reach you, the booking is cancelled automatically and the booking fee is not refunded.
- Setting off: allow plenty of travel time; arriving late shortens your own session.
Things not to do
- Drink too much before arriving.
- Take photos inside the shop.
- Follow street touts; see Should You Follow Street Touts in Japan.
