Luxury vs Mid-Range vs Budget Soaplands: Differences in Price and Experience

Yoshiwara soaplands fall roughly into four tiers. For 120 minutes, the total is about ¥90,000–120,000 at super-luxury shops, about ¥80,000–90,000 at luxury shops, and about ¥60,000–70,000 at mid-range shops, while budget shops are about ¥10,000–50,000. The higher the tier, the longer the time, the better the room and the more service. For a first visit, tourists should choose mid-range or above.

The four tiers at a glance

Tier Approx. total (yen) Time Features
Super-luxury 90,000–120,000 (120 min) Mostly 120 minutes The most refined setting and service, e.g. BLUE TOKYO PREMIUM, Rokumeikan, OPERA
Luxury 80,000–90,000 (120 min) From 120 minutes Large, well-decorated rooms; specially trained in oral service on arrival, water beds, etc., e.g. Moulin Rouge
Mid-range 60,000–70,000 (120 min) 90-minute courses also available More attention to service and concepts, many young hostesses, e.g. Idol Kenkyusei, Taren-ai Club
Budget 10,000–50,000 40–120 minutes, commonly around 60 minutes Value-focused, small rooms, higher risk that the hostess looks different from her photos

The “nyuyoku-ryo” (bathing fee) posted at the door is only part of the price; the total is about 3 times that, so first ask whether a figure is the bathing fee or the total. Details: What Is the Bathing Fee.

Beyond price, how the experience differs

  • Budget shops: focused on turnover, short courses, plain waiting rooms. LeLe TV doesn't currently partner with budget shops, and personally we don't think tourists need to go.
  • Mid-range shops: more generous time, and noticeably better hostesses overall.
  • Luxury and super-luxury shops: male staff are more formal, and some shops have a dress code (for example, no sandals or tracksuits); each shop has its own theme, such as cosplay, a girlfriend experience or uniforms.

The line between luxury and super-luxury is blurry anyway, so don't fuss over the label; look at the total price and the hostess. For each shop's prices see Yoshiwara Soapland Prices Explained, and for the shop list see 13 Recommended Partner Shops. Prices may change at any time; the final quote from our support team applies.

For a 120-minute total, luxury shops cost about ¥80,000–90,000, mid-range shops about ¥60,000–70,000, and super-luxury shops about ¥90,000–120,000.
